Artist's Comments

Mel Dalton, an old friend of ours died recently. For his funeral all his musician friends came to play. This man was in his 80s or perhaps 90s. They had played together a long long time ago and he wanted to say goodbye in the way he knew best.

I loved this man, still able and willing to play some jazz.

Hi Yvonne, the dev art police are after you for what would appear to be an image in the wrong catagory! What the hey! I guess we are all supposed to suggest what catagory it should be in! Interesting and wierd!

Will good jazz just fade away with the musicians who championed their art or will It be homoginized into something other than what it was intended to be. Jazz is so improvised, its truely a performance art, with all the elements coming together to make a special soul or groove that only that musician can give to a piece. I'm sure as a musician he will be mised and as your friend I know he will be missed!
